Many thanks for sharing that Lee - oral history is such an important way of remembering our past.
My paternal grandmother was Frances May Hughes later Haysman. She was a seamstress in and around the Clare Valley. She told many times about the value and endearment to the cameleers who she called Afghans in finding her materials, threads and equipment to enable her to create dresses, Manchester and such like from her early years 1906 onwards.
