Story
ContributeMy mother (born 1916 - 2010) grew up on a Violet Farm at 3rd Creek Magill. On Sundays Cherabangs would take people to the Farm to pick flowers and to also have afternoon tea. Police on their horses would also attend. The violet was her favourite flower, and my grandmothers too, and bunches were given away to those who attended her funeral. It is also mine. We do have photos of the farm.

For me Violets are a favourite flower among many and I have never had a garden without them growing in it (except for one in the Northern Territory). The first I grew were King Violets transplanted from the Jones' Violet Farm at Third Creek Magill but that strain is long lost to me. Thanks for the memories Christine. We will have to see that the history of our great-grandparent's Violet Farm is preserved.
