Mike Maka’s mural features a tired rhinocerous carrying the city of Adelaide on its back.

The artwork references other works in the city: A Day Out (Marguerite Derricourt’s sculpture of pigs rummaging in trash on Rundle Mall), The Toy Factory’s Biggest Rocking Horse in the World, St. Peter’s Cathedral in North Adelaide, and the curvilinear Bicentennial Conservatory. The city-laden animal is a theme through Mike Maka's work: he created a rhinoceros in Richmond, Victoria in 2013, another one specially for Sydney in 2014, and a turtle in Melbourne in 2014. See if you can find this rhinoceros’ second face. A timelapse  video of the rhinoceros' creation can be found in the links section.
